NAAL Compensation and Workforce Survey

The National Association for Accreditation Leadership has launched the 2026–2027 NAAL National Accreditation Leadership Compensation and Workforce Survey, and I am asking for your help distributing it throughout your professional networks.

This national study will help establish a reliable baseline describing who accreditation professionals are, how their positions are structured, what responsibilities they carry, how they are compensated, and what workforce challenges they experience. The survey covers:

  • Compensation and benefits
  • Responsibilities and workload
  • Position structure
  • Education and professional experience
  • Staffing and organizational support
  • Job satisfaction and workforce retention
  • The future of the accreditation profession

The survey takes approximately 10–12 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous. The survey does not collect names, agency names, or email addresses, and NAAL will report all findings only in aggregate. No individual respondent or agency will be identified.

The survey is open to accreditation professionals, professional standards personnel, assessors, executives, consultants, and others who work in accreditation or a closely related public-safety function. Participants do not need to be NAAL members.

Survey closes: December 1, 2026

The findings will form the basis of the 2027 NAAL National Accreditation Leadership Compensation and Workforce Report, scheduled for release in the Spring 2027.

Please share the survey with your members, accreditation managers, assessors, agency leaders, and other qualified professionals. You are welcome to forward this email, include the link in a newsletter, or post it through your organization’s social-media channels.

Strong participation from every region, agency size, accreditation program, and public-safety discipline is essential to produce meaningful national benchmarks. Your assistance will help ensure we include the experiences of the professionals you represent.

Thank you for supporting this important national project and helping NAAL define and strengthen the accreditation profession.

Feel free to pass this on to any public safety accreditation personnel (corrections, communications, law enforcement, Fire, EMS, and Emergency Management)
