Job Posting Changes Overview & FAQ
With the April 3, 2025, release, new field requirements will be introduced on the Job Posting page. This document summarizes the changes and provides additional information.
● Physical Address
● Minimum Qualifications
Physical Address
What is Changing?
The existing Physical Address field, which is currently optional, will be required.
Why is it Changing? This field is important to enter because it enables geo-based searching of jobs:
● If you advertise on GovernmentJobs or SchoolJobs, this address provides more accurate searching by job seekers based on distance from a specified location or zip code.
● The same applies when Insight postings are added to external job boards, either via scraping or JobTarget advertisements.
● If using Attract to source candidates, it allows for Job Posting Changes Overview & FAQ
FAQ
We are a large agency and have postings where work can be performed at many worksites through the city, county, or state. What should I enter here?
While specificity is better for geo-based searching, the Physical Address field does not require a specific street address. An entire city, county, or even state can be entered. We have telework jobs with no location beside someone’s home. What should I enter here? An entire city, county, or even state can be entered.
Will it be confusing to job seekers to see a specific address on the posting when the work can be done in multiple places?
The Physical Address field is not displayed to job seekers.

FAQ
We are moving away from degree requirements for some jobs, so what if this is confusing for our Insight users and job seekers?
These fields will be used exclusively for internal data analysis and will not be displayed to job seekers at any point and thus never presented as a degree requirement.
We have multi-level qualifications like Associate’s degree + 5 years experience OR Bachelor’s degree + 2 years. What should I enter here?
The intent is to capture the minimum required education for the job. So in that example, you would select Associate’s degree because it’s the minimum of the available possibilities.
