Good morning, we currently have version 6.22 and there are two updates available 6.23 & 6.24. I am terrified of attempting an update for fear of losing all my proofs etc. I read one related topic on how to do this, but can someone tell me exactly what to do - step by step? Thank you!😊

Good morning,

If you choose to update to a newer version, it will allow you to compare the versions before updating, in other words it will allow you to see the difference between the versions. Nothing will change except for the standards updated, added or no longer required.

Hope that helps.

I just did it and am happy to help or get on a call with you if needed but this is still applicable.

Hi @lshark ~

This resource walks you through the steps. The biggest aspect to pay attention to is the prompt in the process that indicates which standards are being updated/modified or potentially removed. I would thoroughly cross check those specific standards to ensure the attachments are fully anchored to the root of the standard before upgrading.

If chapter 13 becomes chapter 14 then the attachments will move to their new location unimpacted. If standards 4.1 becomes standard 8.6, again the attachments will move.

The only opportunities you would have to “lose" attachments is if:

  1. The standard is removed from the updated assessment manual altogether (can’t relocate an attachment that doesn’t have a new location).
  2. If a “bullet" within the standard is removed and the attachment(s) are only anchored to that specific bullet point (hence the suggestion that your attachments are anchored to the root of the standard).

Hope this helps!

The only time you would “lose” anything is if you are only attaching documents to the bullets and then those bullets get removed or moved. To prevent this you can attach to the standard statement as well as the bullet since the standard statement will not move.
