Training Activity Report Performance Improvements
We’ve received reports of slow load times and occasional timeouts when accessing the Training Activity Report. To improve the report’s speed and reliability, we’ve made several performance optimizations, including removing the following optional address fields from the report:
- Address 1
- Address 2
- City
- State
- ZIP Code
We understand that changes to available reporting fields can affect existing workflows, and we did not make this decision lightly. Our review found that only 13 agencies had custom views using these fields. For those agencies, we’ve created a script that will automatically and safely remove the address fields from affected custom views while preserving all other selected fields.
If your reporting requires address information, we recommend using the Course Activity Report in Report Builder, where these fields remain available.
While we typically provide more advance notice of customer-facing changes, we prioritized releasing these improvements promptly to restore more reliable access to this important report. We appreciate your understanding as we continue optimizing its performance.
Bugs Resolved
Functional
| Scenario When Issue Encountered | Issue Resolved |
|---|---|
| Learning Plans: Administrators viewing large learning plan rosters could see an incorrect message limiting which learners they were able to view. | Administrators can now view the complete list of learners in a learning plan roster, giving them full and accurate visibility into training progress across their organization. |
| Training Import: Administrators were unable to complete training data imports due to an unexpected error during file upload. | Administrators can now upload training import files successfully without encountering this error. |
| Surveys: Some learners were unexpectedly signed out while taking a course survey, and certain survey notification emails referenced the wrong sender domain. | Learners can now complete course surveys without being signed out, and notifications are sent from the correct domain for the organizations affected. |
| Course Catalog: An administrator used table view in course management to search by course code or classroom location; results loaded slowly, some searches returned an error, and location suggestions disappeared while typing. | Searching the course catalog in table view is now faster and more reliable. |
| Training Activity Reporting: An administrator of a Risk Pool agency opened the Training Activity view or ran reports including award data, and the report failed to load or displayed blank award fields. | Training activity and related reports now load successfully for pooled agencies, and award information displays correctly. |
| External Learning Report in Report Builder: Previously, when an administrator or employee added an external learning event to a profile and customized the location name, the Report Builder would continue to display the generic location name from the main library instead of the specific details entered. This occurred consistently when generating External Learning Reports for records where the default library information had been modified. | The Report Builder now correctly prioritizes and displays the custom location name associated with the specific learning record. This resolution provides administrators with more accurate and granular reporting data, ensuring that specific event details are preserved and visible across all learning activity reports. |
