Hi all,

The Standard W4 and Canadian TD1 tax forms were expected to be released to UAT yesterday, December 29. Due to some unexpected roadblocks, we were not able to complete the UAT release yesterday. Our team is working on deploying the form to UAT as soon as possible today.

The production release is still scheduled for Monday, January 12th, 2026.

Additionally, please be aware that our UAT environment will be down starting January 6th for our annual UAT refresh.

Best,

Onboard Team

What does everyone do to provide the 2026 W-4 to their new hires in Onboarding until the form is available in Neogov on Jan 12?  Create their own temporary version ?

The EXEMPT box is missing from the 2026 version of the W-4.

I think I see it under step 4.  No?

Maye I am not understanding. Isn’t it the line directly above the signature ?  If this is not it, have you contacted customer support?

@claffond you’re right!

@carcamog Moving forward, employees no longer need to write ‘exempt’ in Step 4. Instead, the IRS added the Exempt from Withholding section and the employee should instead check the toggle if that applies to them.

Thanks!
