Hi Onboard users,
We have two important updates coming soon to Onboard! Please review the changes below so you can prepare for the release, and reach out to onboard-uat@neogov.com if you have any questions.
1. New I-9 with 2027 Expiration Date
We appreciate your patience regarding the new version of the Federal Form I-9. As mentioned previously, the new I-9 is the exact same edition date (08/01/23) but USCIS has extended the expiration date to 2027.
As a result, there are no changes to any of the fields or content of the I-9 form with the exception of the expiration date. As such, the form will be released to production on Thursday, December 5.
2. Form Versioning Improvements
We have improved the form versioning behavior in Onboard, which we are excited to showcase with the new Federal Form I-9.
What HAS NOT Changed: When you publish a new version of a form in Onboard, the system archives any instances of the previous version that are "in progress" and cancels all “Pending”, “Current” and “Hidden” tasks related to those instances.
What HAS Changed: Moving forward, Onboard will also reassign any tasks that are canceled as a result of a new form version being published. Form-related tasks will be assigned to the affected users along with the entire task sequence (i.e. any form-related tasks and all of the subsequent contributor tasks) as part of a personal checklist.
This means that Onboard will assign a copy of the canceled tasks with the newest version of the form to the user. Please note that when form-related tasks are reassigned, data on archived forms will not be migrated to the new form assignment.
This improvement will save you time and effort since you no longer have to manually reassign forms canceled by the form versioning feature. You will see this versioning improvement in action when we publish the new I-9 version.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact onboard-uat@neogov.com and our team will be happy to help.
Thank you,
Onboard Team
