The following flowcharts explain what happens when you change a manager in a certain way taking into consideration:
- Evaluation status
- Shift-bid
- Auto-reassign manager change settings
There are two flowcharts that represent different scenarios depending on the method you've used to change a manager.
In the case when you need to change a manager and you're wondering whether the task assignee should get updated automatically or not, ask yourself these questions:
- In which way am I changing a manager?
- What is the status of the evaluation that this change might affect?
- Was Auto-reassign manager changes setting turned ON or turned OFF at the moment of the evaluation creation?
- Was Shift-bid turned ON or turned OFF at the moment of the evaluation creation? If it was ON, does the rating step have the "Create new step when manager changes" checked or not?
You'll notice that the flowchart for evaluations in After ratings doesn't ask about Shift-bid. That's because at the point in which the evaluation is in After ratings status, rating tasks should be already completed.
By answering questions above and following the chart, you'll be able to see what is the expected result of this action.
