  • Skills under Site Settings remains accessible in read-only format for any skill not tied to a program, allowing you to view and export any current unused skills. If you try to edit a skill from Site Settings, a pop-up message will remind you to do all editing from within Program Settings.

Value

This latest update simplifies skill management, avoids duplication, and prevents cross-program changes:

  1. Unintended Cross-Program Impacts: Modifications to a skill within one program inadvertently affected other programs utilizing the same skill. This resulted in numerous bug reports concerning unexplained skill alterations, often traced back to coordinators making changes in programs they did not primarily manage.

  2. Data Integrity and Duplication Issues: To circumvent the first problem, organizations created duplicate skills at the site level for each program to avoid an initial problem, causing data integrity issues and programs using the wrong duplicates. Restrictions put in place to prevent further duplication led to users being unable to create necessary duplicates.

Audience

  • Site Administrators
  • Program Coordinators

Examples

Skill management through program settings will continue as they have in the past.

A site administrator who previously imported skills from a spreadsheet into the site settings, will now import the skills into individual programs through program settings.

Items Removed from Skill Management

Direct import between programs isn't currently available; however, bulk import from XLSX is moving to the Program level.

Bulk Import Formatting

Bulk import from XLSX now supports basic formatting for descriptions for the following lists:

  • Program Settings > Skills
  • Site Settings > Site Lists > Call Types

The following format options will import:

  • Bold
  • Italics
  • Underline
  • Indents (tabs inside cells)

Value

By maintaining the formatting of the XLSX cell, it reduces the need to manually reformat descriptions after import.

Audience

  • Site Administrators
  • Program Coordinators

Examples

  • Previously,  if skill for call type descriptions had indentations or text formatting, users would need to enter the descriptions individually through the web interface, or bulk import from a spreadsheet then individually edit them to have the formatting apply. Now you can import skills and call types from a spreadsheet and have the description formatting carry over.

General Changes

PowerPlatform Field Sync

  • For customers already using Power products, user Locations and Shifts will be synced within those products. If users are imported to the platform with a location or shift not currently in PowerReady, then the app will automatically add that location and/or shift.

Value

This simplifies the process of onboarding customers to the platform, and makes it so that shift and location  information stays in sync with other Power products.

Audience

  • Site Administrators
  • Program Coordinators
