New Feature/Enhancements
Add Support for Leave Policy when Accrual Begin Rule is set to “First Day Taken”
When configuring a Leave Policy, when the Accrual Begin Rule is set to “First Day Taken” the accrual record’s start and end dates will update in a more expected way.
The release of this feature is not able to apply to new users at this time; it can be applied to existing users with established leave banks. We will release an enhancement later to make this functionality work for new users.
Value
This allows Time & Attendance to support more leave policy configurations, especially around FMLA rules.
Audience
Agencies who have leave policies where the start date of the leave bank updates upon the date leave is first taken.
Examples
If the employee first takes leave on 6/2/2026, the dates on the leave policy update to 6/2/2026 - 6/1/2027. Any leave taken between these dates will not update the leave policy’s dates.
Then if the employee takes leave after 6/1/2027, then the accrual start date will update based on the date the next leave is taken. For example, if the next time leave is taken is 10/1/2027, then the leave policy’s dates will be 10/1/2027 - 9/31/2028.
Appendix: Bugs Resolved
Functional
| Scenario When Issue Encountered | Issue Resolved |
| On the Timesheet grid, the value in the Total Hours field is doubled if the employee’s assignment start date equals the start date of the timesheet period. | The Total Hours column now accurately displays hours. |
| If a Work Rule indicated a clock punch should be rounded, it was rounding to the incorrect date if the clock punch would round to 12:00 AM. For example, if a punch was made at 11:59 PM on 2/5/2026, then it would incorrectly round to 12:00 AM on 2/5/2026. | The punch now rounds to the correct date and time. For example, if a punch is made at 11:59 PM on 2/5/2026, then it correctly rounds to 12:00 AM on 2/6/2026. |
| If an employee is terminated mid pay period, managers would not have visibility to approve timesheets. | Managers are able to approve timesheets for employees who are terminated mid pay period. They are also able to see the employee’s historical timesheets. |
