Guardrails to Prevent Accidental Loss of Work
Working inside an applicant file is often fast-paced and detail-heavy—and nothing derails that momentum more than accidentally clicking away and losing unsaved work. With this release, Vetted now prompts users with a confirmation modal if unsaved changes are detected in modals or fly-outs within the application, particularly in the applicant file.
Whether you’re editing a checklist, uploading documents, writing notes, or updating correspondence, if you try to navigate away without saving, you’ll now be prompted to either:
- Stay and continue editing
- Leave without saving (and discard changes)
Value
This enhancement protects users from accidentally losing their work due to unintentional clicks. It significantly reduces duplicate entries, prevents user errors, and builds confidence when interacting with applicant data. No more “Wait, did I save that?” moments.
Audience
- Admins
- Investigators
- Custom user roles with modify permissions on the applicant file
Examples
An Investigator is midway through uploading a new Miscellaneous Document and begins entering the file name. Before saving, they accidentally click outside of the modal or press the Esc key. Instead of losing their changes, Vetted now asks them to confirm if they want to leave the page without saving. Crisis averted!
Items Removed Because of This Enhancement
None—this is a new confirmation safeguard added across existing modals and flyouts. No existing behaviors were removed, and there are no process changes for department users.
General Changes
This section includes changes to the product's basic design that don’t affect its function, such as the location of common links or menu changes, the addition of tooltips, extra filter and sorting options, or modifications to page titles.
My Contacts Grid | Fax Number in Grid
The fax number was inadvertently left off the My Contacts grid list. It is now included for quick access.
Uploads | Corrected to 10mb for Consistency
It was found that some areas were not updated to allow for 10mb uploads. All places in the applicant file now allow for 10mb uploads for supporting documentation.
Comparison Report | Hide Agency Info When Other Agency Hides Module
When generating a PHS Comparison Report, if another agency has hidden an entire module (such as Residences or Family), the report will now omit that agency’s responses for the module rather than displaying blank rows. This prevents confusion and makes it easier to focus on relevant data. Not a bug—just something we tidied up for clarity.
Print Checklist
A ‘Print’ button has been added to the checklist pages so Investigators and Admins can easily print these items without generating a Final Report.
