Author 3.0 not allowing me to edit document in word

I have updated to the new author 3.0. I was able to edit a document through it earlier. It opened the document in word and I was able to save the revision on PowerDMS. Now, when I try to edit a document it only opens it as a PDF and will not allow me to edit it. Any help would be appreciated.

Every time I log into PowerDMS, it opens to the Consular Notification 1.1.4. It doesn't matter how I log off, or shut down the program, it always opens in that standard.

attaching lexipol policies to my assessment

I read the lexipol/powerdms integration and none of the sections work.  I don’t have any red circles and when i save my lexipol policy to my existing folder to import, I am unable to attach it to the standard.  My standard will show the red symbol on the paper, but when I click on it and say to accept the changes, there is no policy.

Courses: Designing a Course

I have been designing courses for my organization, using the Rich Text type element.  I enter in the course name, set a link to access training videos on other platforms, and when I hit SAVE, I lose all the information on the screen.  It happens with regularity.  Am I doing something wrong?Simply put, I open a Rich Text element, type the course name on the top of the screen, hit return, set a link using the Hyperlink Manager, select OK, and when I am done with the element I select SAVE.  After hitting SAVE, the Rich Text screen goes blank, and I lost all the data.  I will have to X out of the program several times until it finally works.

Tickler File

What is the likelihood of PDMS incorporating a tickler file for recurring reports and other actions?      This capability would alert appropriate users to initiate or complete a report, inspection, or other action, and include the corresponding forms or checklists that want attention.

Does anyone have a PowerPoint or presentation material regarding this proof? We are in the self-assessment phase and need to cover this ASAP. It would help with the buy-in and our employees' understanding of the CALEA standard and process.

Policy Hyperlinks

We are creating a completely new policy manual to replace an outdated and incomplete version.  I want to get the full manual approved and in place before I start integrating the standards and applying proofs.   I am looking for a means to set up a hyperlink within the policy so that when it refers to another policy or document the officer only needs to click on the hyperlink to get to it.  How do I do that within the editing option for the document? Thanks!

I feel that I can easily complete letter a) of this standard; it is letter b) that is giving me trouble. Any help or example would be greatly appreciated. 33.4.4 (LE1) (M M M M) (LE1) Limited Function Alternate Training Requirements--Agencies not wishing to include certain employee classifications with law enforcement responsibilities in a full recruit training program may opt that classification out of a full training program by accomplishing the following:--prepare a detailed job analysis for the position which identifies tasks that are law enforcement related; and-- develop a matrix that identifies the training, and hours of training provided, of that training for the classification.

Document with embedded links to other DMS documents

I have a policy document when, in draft, the embedded links work fine to direct me to other DMS documents. Once I published it, the links do not work. Other documents with similar embedded links work fine. I saw a previous thread similar to this from three years ago but no response. Help!

CALEA Standard 1.2.9 Annual Report Requirement

My agency is currently in the self-assessment phase of the CALEA Tier 1 accreditation process.  I am looking at standard 1.2.9, specifically bullet C.  Does anyone have a sample of what a report like this should look like?  It seems like it ties in to the CIMRS reports, but I want to make sure we wouldn’t be doing too much/too little for what this report should require.  Thanks in advance for any assistance. The agency has a written directive governing unlawful or improper bias in public safety and, at a minimum, includes the following provisions:--a prohibition against unlawful or improper bias in public safety; initial training prior to assignment, and annual refresher training in biased issues including legal aspects, for all affected personnel; and a documented annual administrative review of activities with potential for bias to include, but not limited to, traffic and field contacts, asset forfeiture efforts, citizen complaints and any corrective measures taken.

Problems created when added user

We have our annual review coming up next week. I added the CSM based off the instructions provided the CSM. I added him as a user and gave him the permissions requested in the instructions. When I did that suddenly my all users group has past memos and policies from 2019 needed to be signed off on again. I also have a user that cannot even view policies now. Any help would be great.

How do we make the training request discussion visible to the person who entered the request? Often times this discussion explains the reason for a denial and the requestor can use this information when resubmitting.

Secured Location for Warrants

Password Protect Files or Folder

We are looking into migrating our paper-based personnel files into powerDMS but they are required to be secure from access.  I know I can lock the folder to the position that needs access, but superadmins would still have access.  Is there a way to password protect the files so the superadmin may be able to see and move files, but not access them?Alternatively, can PowerDMS accept password protected files? If I upload a secured .pdf or secured .docx will powerdms accept that?How are you all managing personnel files?

report for past due documents

How do I find a report that shows how many documents a user has that are past due.  the report that I find shows the users and how many documents they have that require signature  and a past due number. but the past due number is not for all the documents in the users inbox.  I have clicked on lots of parameters and trying to find a report that meets this requirement is very frustrating.  I am looking for step by step instructions not go to inbosummary and try to figure it out.  I am looking for John Doe has 57 documents requiring signature and only 9 of them are past due.I hope that makes sense

Firefighter Qualifications

What does your agency do for an employment background? Do you require a set of fingerprints for verification that the new hire does not have a criminal history precluding them from being hired?   Is this only done at the academy?  Per F.S.S. 633.412
