As of July 8, Attract has begun auto-merging duplicate candidate profiles into one profile based on identical email addresses in the system. This merge will continue through the month of July, with no action required from you.
By eliminating duplicate candidates sourced from form submissions, GovernmentJobs.com profiles, and job applications, this improvement will:
- Enhance your data integrity in Attract
- Make it easy to find the candidate information you need all in one profile

FAQs
- How will the system know which profiles are duplicates that need to be merged?
- Attract will identify candidate profiles using the same email address across various sources. Then it will automatically merge profiles with the same email address into a single profile.
- Will any of my candidate data be lost during the merging process?
- No; the merged profile will maintain the integrity of the candidate data without loss or corruption.
- When will all of my candidate data be merged?
- Candidate data will be merged gradually throughout the month of July. Profile merges will be prioritized based on their original source, in the following order: 1) GovernmentJobs.com profile, 2) Paper, 3) Job Interest Card (JIC), 4) Manual, 5) Form.
- Are there any special merging cases I should know about?
- If merging a higher-priority profile with a lower-priority profile, the system will retain the primary data from the higher-priority profile and merge supplementary data from the lower-priority profile.
- Will Insight candidate profiles be part of the Attract data merge?
- No. Duplicate profiles from Insight (e.g., online and paper profiles) will not be merged with the Attract merge, but will instead be part of the Insight profile merge.
