The 2025 version of the Federal Form W4 was published this morning to the IRS website. There seems to be no change to the fields upon initial review, with only minor changes to some description text on page 1. There are also updates to the tax brackets page 4. 

Please note that employees are not required to complete a new W4 and withholdings should continue based on a valid form previously completed. Special rules apply to employees claiming exemption from withholding on their W4s. If an employee claims exemption from withholding for 2024, they should submit a new W4 by February 15, 2025.

Our team will begin working on the newest version of the Federal Form W4. At this time, we do not have a release date scheduled, but will ensure the form is available prior to February 15, 2025 with the goal of releasing it well ahead of that date. We will share more info in the upcoming days once a timeline is finalized.
