We are excited to have had a very strong response to our request for beta customers for the Insight modernization project, and are grateful to those of you who have expressed interest in joining our beta group. Registration is now closed. 

Calling all neophiles and early adopters who want to be first in line to get their hands on system updates! The Insight product team is recruiting customers to be a part of a beta group for a major initiative that we are working on. Over the next two years, we will be focusing heavily on product modernization. Our goal with this initiative is to improve the overall user experience and to upgrade to the latest technology.

As you have probably noticed, some of the pages in Insight have a modern look and feel while others seem more dated. A major goal is for a modern and consistent look and feel throughout the NEOGOV product suite. Most of the user-facing changes will be fairly minor and will not have any substantive impacts on functionality. However, there are a few areas where we plan to make major changes to the user interface (UI)/user experience (UX). One of the areas where you will likely see significant changes is supplemental and agency-wide questions. In addition to design updates, we’re also planning on adding some new functionality here that we’ve had a lot of requests for, such as the ability to copy questions and apply branching or skip logic.

Insight modernization updates will be released to Production with our quarterly Recruit Module enhancement releases. Prior to making these updates available in Production for all customers, we are going to enable them in Production for a smaller subset of customers that volunteer to be part of our beta group. This means that beta customers will get access to these updates in Production first. Beta testing is expected to begin in April 2022.

So why should you volunteer to become a beta customer? As a beta tester, you’ll get to be on the bleeding edge of the latest user interface designs and system functionality. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your participation will have a meaningful impact on our product and you will have access to provide your feedback directly to the product team. All updates will be thoroughly tested by our team prior to being released to our beta customers so by the time you get your hands on them they will be stable and ready to use. You will have a switch to enable and disable the modernization updates on the fly if you need to.
