New Hire Benefits

With this release, administrators can set up two types of automation for benefits with new hires.

Auto-Enroll New Hires into Required Plans

  • Go to BENEFIT_PLANS > Plan Setup tab > Rules > Enrollment Rules section.
  • For the Participation field, select Required, which will show the new Auto-Enroll New Hires field and populate it.
  • Select ON for the new field. The feature will automatically enroll a new hire into the default coverage of the plan with an Effective Date equal to their hire date.
    • You must select Required from the Participation field.
    • You can set the Default Coverage from the Eligibility tab.

When a new hire is enrolled with this feature:

  • Enrollment will show 0 rates. You must run UBCALC/UBCLOZ or Payroll to reflect the correct rates.
  • If dependents or beneficiaries are required, the new hire will still be enrolled, but you will have to add those to the enrollment after.

Auto-Creation of a New Hire Event

  • Select New Hire for the Event Type. The new Auto-Creation of Event for New Hires field will show and populate.
  • Select ON for the new field. The feature will automatically create the event for a new hire.

This feature will create an open enrollment event for a new hire.

  • You must select Allow Auto Open Enrollment from the Additional Settings field.
  • Administrators and employees can access the open enrollment from the Unified Dashboard.
  • Administrators and employees will not see a life/work event on the Unified Dashboard.

Note: For help with this feature and assistance with plan updates, contact your NEOGOV representative.

    • Compile and publish via the user calc using the IMUC page.
    • Publish the user calc using the IMUCA page.
      • WF can be found under WF_EASD.
